A constructive meeting was held at the headquarters of the Italian Federation of University Sport before paying a visit to the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi.

FISU President Leonz Eder and FISU Secretary General and CEO Matthias Remund travelled to Rome for an institutional meeting in the offices of the Italian University Sports Federation (FederCUSI) in Rome. Accompanying the heads of world university sport in Italy was Lorenzo Lentini, Italian member of the FISU Executive Committee.

Leonz Eder and Matthias Remund met the staff and visited the various offices and departments of the Federation before holding a meeting with President Antonio Dima and General Secretary Pompeo Leone, during which common projects for the development of international university sport were discussed, with the Italian Federation of University Sport at the forefront.

At the end of the meeting, President Dima presented the international guests with the official uniform of the Italian delegation to the upcoming Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games.

After the FederCUSI visit, the FISU delegation was then accompanied to the Ministry for Sport and Youth by Minister Andrea Abodi, with whom President Dima and President Eder had the opportunity to comment on the successful outcome of the Torino 2025 FISU World University Games, which took place last January, emphasising the important impact that university sports events have on the new generations.

The meeting with the Minister was strongly desired by Lorenzo Lentini (right), who, after the success of Torino 2025, is promoting a new Italian candidature for the organisation of future international university sports events.
