The FISU Gender Equality Project Award is given to a project that has already been delivered at least once in 2023 or 2024. Priority will be given to projects which are sustainable and can be replicated by other organisations across the world. A grant of € 5000 will be provided by FISU to the winning project.

The Portuguese Academic Federation of University Sport (FADU) was the winner of the 2023 FISU Gender Equality Project Award. Their ‘Challenge the Numbers’ campaign was been recognised for its aim to develop and encourage sports participation and growth through the promotion of activities that focus on universality, integrity, and merit:

“We believe that these awards are effectively an opportunity to inspire change, strengthen collective commitments and highlight significant achievements on the road to equality. Taking part in the Gender Equality Awards is an opportunity to recognise these advances, celebrate achievements and continue to transform representation and participation at all levels.”

We look forward to receiving your submissions and continuing the journey towards gender equality in university sports!
