Aylin Cuevas from Mexico won the first gold in Tartu in the women's 47 kg weight class. She also set FISU records for squat, deadlift and total!

Great Britain took home the most medals (12 in total, four in each metal) from the Tartu 2024 FISU World University Championship Powerlifting.

209 student-athletes showed their muscles, but also their technique, mental strength and concentration abilities all week long in the historical city of Tartu in Estonia.

Fifteen different nations on the podium

New impressive FISU world records were set in many categories and 15 different countries took medals home from this first ever FISU Powerlifing World University Championship. The event was a great success, thanks of course to all the participants, but also the hard work from the judges, the organising committee and all the volunteers who gave their time and passion all week long.

France and Great Britain were neck and neck all week, fighting for the first place in the medal table, with the latter finally taking top place with four gold, four silver and four bronze against four gold and three silver.
