No extension of FISU Executive Committee’s mandate, decides Extraordinary General Assembly

14 March 2023

FISU today held an online Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) to consider the proposal to extend the mandate of the FISU Executive Committee for two more years, until 2025.

The EGA was attended by 81 FISU Member Associations with the right to vote. The Members of the EGA voted with 41 votes for and 36 votes against. Therefore, the two-thirds majority required to pass the proposal was not reached.

Consequently, FISU will hold elections for the positions of the FISU Executive Committee in November 2023.

The Extraordinary General Assembly was supervised by the Chair of the FISU Legal Committee and voting was conducted via LUMI, a leading supplier of online voting systems widely used within the Olympic Movement.
