FISU will deliver NFT digital trophies at the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games, thanks to an agreement signed with LEVERADE.

FISU will use blockchain technology to award players through digital trophies, positioning itself as one of the world’s most innovative entities.

A partnership toward the future of University Sports

Thanks to blockchain technology, FISU will deliver official medals in NFT format minted by the Federation, with a certificate of authenticity and ownership recorded in the blockchain forever.

Digital trophies are a great asset and attraction to capture the public’s attention, encourage engagement, and interaction in social networks, and thus attract media attention.

Athletes who earn a digital medal can achieve great benefits.

• Obtain an exclusive, unique and unforgeable digital certification of their sporting achievement.

From 12-22 January the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games will bring together 1,443 students-athletes, ages 17-25, from 543 universities in 46 countries to participate in 85 competitions in Alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, curling, freestyle and free ski, figure skating, ice hockey, Nordic combined, short track speed skating, snowboarding, ski jumping and speed skating. Athletes will compete in 86 medal events in Lake Placid and the North Country area, including Saranac Lake, Wilmington, North Creek, Potsdam and Canton.
