Young Photojournalists project starts in Ekaterinburg

10 February 2022

The 2023 FISU World University Games Summer, along with the Ural Federal University (UrFU), invites students to immerse themselves in the world of professional sports photography.

The project aims to prepare young Ekaterinburg photo reporters to professionally cover major sporting events that will be taking place in Ural’s capital in the next few years.

Eligible for this program are UrFU students who are highly interested in photography, possess relevant experience and skills, and study in specialized or related majors.

To become one of the project’s ten participants, candidates must provide a portfolio with their best works and a motivational letter for the UrFU commission to review.

Applications are open until March 3, 2022.

Andrey Golovanov (picture), a well-known sports photographer who worked on 14 Olympics and dozens of other major international events, will mentor contestants who have passed the selection.

He will hold a series of lectures for the participants during the course preparation events organized by the Games Directorate in 2022-2023.

Professional photography equipment will be provided to the participants and the best five of them will receive accreditation as photographers for the FISU World University Games, to be held August 8-19, 2023.
