10th All Africa University Games set for June 2022

28 August 2021

Held since 1974, the All Africa University Games brings together Africa’s top university athletes together to compete for prestigious continental university athlete titles. After a postponement in 2020, over 4000 athletes will compete at the 10th edition of the Games, now to be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 6-10 June 2022.

With the support of FASU and the Kenyan University Sports Association (KUSA), an official invitation was sent to all universities in Africa signed by the local organising committee, FASU, KUSA and Kenyatta university.

The event carries the support of FISU, often encouraging member associations to continue competition and activities within national and continental university sport communities like these.

“We are excited to see that the All Africa University Games are still being organised and are showing strong participation in its 10th edition,” said FISU Acting President, Leonz Eder.

“We trust that FASU, KUSA, Kenyatta University and the Organising Committee have been hard at work to deliver these Games at the standard they have always been. We wish them the best of luck with their preparations for these Games in 2022.”

The All Africa University Games (FASU Games) are organised once every two years as a flagship event with nine editions having been held already. The format of participation at the Games changed from national university teams to individual universities since the 8th FASU Games South Africa 2016.
