Preparations for Ekaterinburg 2023 FISU World University Games roll-on, after successful meeting with FISU Vice-President

4 May 2021

FISU Vice-President Marian Dymalski – also member of the Polish Olympic Committee and coordinator for the Ekaterinburg 2023 FISU World University Games – attended a meeting between the delegation of the Polish Olympic Committee and their Russian counterparts in Moscow over four days last month.

The visit, led by the Polish Olympic Committee president Andrzej Krasnicki, was intended to discuss preparations for the Olympics in Tokyo, the progress of the Ekaterinburg 2023 FISU Games as well as the European Games planned for 2023 in Kraków.

Despite there being a long break since the last visit because of the pandemic restrictions, the international sports movements had been working hard throughout the period and the delegates had a lot to discuss.

Marian Dymalski visited the Russian Student Sport Union and met with their Secretary General Dmitry Kiselev as well as Alexandr Chernov, the Executive Director of the Organising Committee for the Ekaterinburg 2023 FISU Games.

“Mr Chernov made sure that despite the pandemic, the organising committee has been working hard and their activities are running according to the schedule,” FISU Vice-President Mr Dymalski said. “There is a lot of work to be done, however, the executives are in the know about the current state of affairs and are ready to react to changing circumstances accordingly.”
