Morocco wants to pull off a winner with Cross Country Championships

MARRAKECH – The first-time hosts in Morocco want to make the 2020 World University Cross-country Championship a huge success. The event, which will kick off the 2020 World University Championship season, will start on 7 March. 

The official team hotel for the 2020 WUC Cross-country in Marrakech“We want to make it a real festival of sports,” said Adel Kamane of the local Organising Committee. “Student athletes will gather and have fun in the marvelous city of Marrakech.” 

As one of the measures to increase participation, the Organising Committee has decided to extend the registration deadline until 7 February 2020.

“For the same reason, we decided to cancel the deposit fee as well,” he continued.

“It might have been a barrier for some countries which did not have time to pay the individual sports deposit.

To make the championship even more affordable and encourage more countries to take part OC has also reduced the participation fees from 60€ to 40 €.

Moroccans are known to be welcoming and generous, and they are ready to welcome participants to an experience they will never forget. The Organising Committee says they are committed to hosting a spectacular championship and that Morocco will put on a great show. Watch this space.
