THE STAGE IS SET FOR THE WOMEN’S SEMIFINALS AT THE UNIVERSITY WORLD CUP – FOOTBALL!

JINJIANG — Certain to be full of suspense, thrills and excitement, four contenders square off in the women’s semifinals to the KELME 2019 FISU University World Cup – Football tournament.

Unbeaten Paulista University of Brazil takes on the College of Asian Scholars from Thailand. The São Paulo-based student-athletes look poised as a serious threat to continue their regal progress to the Cup final. Not to be overlooked, the Thai team comes in as the reigning Asian continental champions – and won this title in Jinjiang. No doubt, the College of Asian Scholars players certainly have the skills and savvy to play for the championship.

The evening match-up pits national favourite Beijing Normal University against University of Ottawa. The Canadians stormed into the semifinals by scoring three goals in the first 28 minutes during their most challenging group stage game — showcasing the team’s offensive prowess. Whether Beijing Normal can clamp down on Ottawa’s offensive attack could make the difference in who goes through to the finals.

In the ranking rounds, the University of Sydney takes on Donghua University, while the University of Lausanne goes up against the Siberian Federal University.
