The Napoli 2019 Summer Universiade will be a wonderful event for gender parity, as the numbers of registered male and female athletes are nearly even. In team sports like rugby sevens, football, water polo and basketball, an equal number of teams are in the fray. The only exception is volleyball where there are more male teams in action.
