76 different activities across the country
The International Day of University Sport (IDUS) was celebrated with great fanfare in Russia.
The Russian Students Sport Union worked with regional bodies to come up with a unique sports calendar that included 76 sports events across Russia – competitions, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, meetings with famous athletes and even flash mobs.
Heads of student sports organizations came together with political leaders and famous athletes for numerous tournaments, races and quizzes.
Around 45,000 students all over Russia participated across various centres including Moscow and the regions of Omsk, Rostov, Khabarovsk, Chelyabinsk and Krasnoyarsk – the host city of the 2019 Winter Universiade.
