Oleg Matytsin & Gaetano ManfrediNAPLES – During the stay in Naples as part of the bid for the 2019 Universiade, FISU President Oleg Matytsin and FISU Secretary General/CEO Eric Saintrond met with several academic authorities and among them the rectors of the Universities of Naples and Salerno. The rector of the Federico II University of Naples, prof. Gaetano Manfredi, is also the President of the CRUI (Conference of Italian University Rectors). This organization represents 79 universities across the peninsula. It is for this reason that Prof. Manfredi, has signed an agreement with the CUSI to support through all the Universities of Italy the 2019 Universiade project in Naples. The support of the entire Italian university community is extremely important for the application of the Universiade 2019 in Campania. He confirmed that these games have an influence beyond the region and that this project is a real opportunity for the entire Italian university community.
