Teacher Na Yu Mi with one of her pupilsGWANGJU – Athletes of today are the leaders of tomorrow and young people of today are the Universiade athletes of tomorrow. The Korean teachers didn’t want to keep away their pupils from a big event that’s taking place in their city. Na Yu Mi, a design teacher in the technical high school of Gwangju said “We decided to bring our pupils to see the diving competitions, it is an opportunity for them to learn about this sport, to encourage their country’s athletes and to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds.”

More than forty pupils came to watch the games, they were so excited and interested to watch the Universiade divers in action.

For the teacher, the Universiade is an occasion that no one in Gwangju should miss and as an education expert, she strongly believes that such event represents an informal education programme for her pupils even if they are studying something different than sport. “Education, learning, discovery and fun, together can build a balanced person’s mind”, Na Yu Mi adds.
