Universiade Gwangju D-Day 200 kicks off with FISU Inspection

 The International University Sports Federation (FISU) delegation, including Mark Vandenplas and Jing Zhao, are discussing the preparation and progress of the 2015 Summer Universiade at the GUOC Headquarters.

GWANGJU – FISU has begun a seven-day visit to Gwangju as the South Korean city continues to prepare for the 2015 Summer Universiade.

With only some 200 days away from the Universiade Gwangju, FISU delegates are visiting Gwangju from 10 to 16 December for 7 days to discuss areas of preparation that are key to a smooth Universiade-time operation. 

FISU delegates will visit multiple venues and have meetings with a number of functional areas to review the preparation and progress of the Gwangju 2015 Universiade. With only 200 days away from the opening ceremony, both the Gwangju 2015 Universiade Organizing Committee and FISU are eager to discuss the logistics and sporting venues in detail. Therefore, GUOC will not only touch base on transportation, accommodation, catering, Athletes’ Village but also programmes such as the Observer Programme, delegation services, competition entries, competition equipment etc.

14 delegates, including the Secretary-General from the 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade Organizing Committee has also visited Gwangju to observe the inspection for future reference.
