BRASILIA – Last week, the FISU Treasurer, Danzandorj Bayasgalan, and the FISU Secretary-General/CEO Eric Saintrond travelled to Brasilia, host city of the 30th Summer Universiade in 2019. The purpose of the trip was a working visit with the Governor of the Federal District of Brasilia, Agnelo dos Santos Queiroz Filho and with Júlio Filgueira, the CEO of the Brasilia 2019 OC. The FISU Vice-President and President of CBDU, Luciano Cabral accompanied our FISU representatives during their stay in Brasilia.

The meeting was scheduled to finalize the pending questions following the FISU Executive Committee meeting held last May in Brussels. The majority of the topics discussed concerned administrative and financial issues that are associated with staging major multi-sports events like the Universiade. Since its constitution in February, the Brasilia Organising Committee recently set up an administrative office in Brazil’s capital city that will further develop into the OC Headquarters in the next months to come.
