Hohhot Gets Ready for 2014 WUC Taekwondo

HOHHOT – Only 53 days to go before the opening of the 13th World University Taekwondo Championship in Hohhot, China, which is also the last edition of this WUC event. Indeed, from the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju onwards, Taekwondo will be one of the compulsory events on the Summer Universiade sports programme.

Since the launching of the volunteer recruitment, more than 3,000 university students have applied. Last week, volunteer recruitment ended with 460 candidates attending the interview with 200 finally selected.

The championship will be staged from 8 to 14June, with around 550 officials and athletes from over 38 countries and regions registered. Besides the sport competitions, the participating delegations will also have a chance to enjoy the distinctive Chinese culture.
