FISU Student Committee meets in Kazan

14 July 2013

KAZAN Meeting for only the second time in its existence, the FISU Students’ Committee convened on July 13th at the Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia. The committee was originally formed in the fall of 2011 and its only other previous meeting was at the FISU Forum in Chinese Taipei in March of 2012.

The purpose of the committee is to act as a bridge between students and FISU, bringing the concerns of students from all member federations to the Executive Committee, as well as promoting FISU’s initiatives directly to students involved with University Sport.

All ten members of the committee – Natasha Campos Mendez (CRC), Cheng Hao (CHN), Kasper Czarnota (POL), Rosa Delots (FRA), Justin Fauteux (CAN), Scott Krapf (USA), Andile Majeke (RSA), Diacounda Sene (SEN), Lotte Uutinen (FIN) and Choo Young (KOR) – were present, along with coordinator Renata Bojczuk (POL). The committee discussed the initial drafts of three proposals it hopes to send to the Executive Committee this fall.

The Students’ Committee will meet once before the end of the Universiade and will likely reconvene again at the 2014 FISU Forum in Gwangju.
