FISU Board attributes 5 more WUC for 2014, Sport Climbing and Ski Orienteering added to the Sports Programme

LAUSANNE/KAZAN – At its Executive Committee meeting in Kazan (June 30th- July 1st), FISU, the governing body of international university sport, attributed 5 more World University Championships for 2014.

The following WUCs were attributed:

6th WUC Boxing to Yakutsk (RUS)

12th WUC Triathlon to Wellington (NZL)

8th WUC Squash to Chennai (IND)

11th WUC Equestrian to Abu Dhabi (UAE)

5th WUC Shooting Sport to Al Ain (UAE)

This brings the total number of Championships to 29 in 2014.

The FISU board also added two new sports to the FISU Sports Programme, i.e. Ski Orienteering (IOF) and Sport Climbing (IFSC) and decided to add Fleet Racing to the existing Match Racing and this WUC will in the future be referred to as WUC Sailing, which will include all sailing disciplines.
