Prague International University Marathon 2013

PRAGUE Within the Prague International Marathon (PIM), organised since 1995, the University Marathon has also been organised and this since 2010; marking its 4th edition this year.

PIM is nowadays considered as one of the top 10 marathons in the world in terms of quality and level of organisation. This year, branded by RunCzech and Volkswagen, a record number of 9,500 runners took part in the Marathon (all categories).

The goal of the University Marathon is to promote sport (especially running) among the students. The event is designed for teams, composed of four runners. The first three members of each team run the 10km distance, and the final distance – 12,5km – is for the captain of the team. This year, 21 university teams took part and the university medallists are:

1. University of Hradec Kralove, CZE

2. Masaryk university of Brno, CZE

3. Economic University of Prague, CZE

The teams will receive their awards at the Gala evening, to be held on May 29th in Prague.

The 2013 University Marathon was held under the patronage of the Charles University in Prague, Czech University Sports Association (CAUS) and the European University Sports Association (EUSA).
