ENTEBBE Technical Delegate for Cross-Country Til LUFFT and FISU Executive Assistant for World University Championships Julien BUHAJEZUK arrived safely in Uganda on the early morning of Thursday 21 March 2013 for the inspection visit ahead of the 19th World University Cross-Country Championship, to be hosted in Uganda (NUSFU) in 2014. The team was received by the President of NUSFU, Ms Peninnah Aligawesa Kabenge.

Day one started with a courtesy greeting from the President of FASU, Dr. Malumbete RALETHE, who was in Uganda on official FASU duty. The visit involved looking at various venues for accommodation, secretariat meetings & social amenities at the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel. The team, in company of members of the local organising committee and NUSFU, also visited the competition venue (Entebbe Golf Course). As Til Lufft reported, he was impressed with the venues and is confident that Uganda shall organise the best event.

Following the site visits, members were engaged in a meeting at the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel with the visiting team to recap and share notes on the procedures and selections of specific areas and venues of concern. Julien was impressed with the progress of Uganda, considering that there was more than one year to go before the games, and prayed that such a spirit is maintained till the end.

Day two shall have the inspection team hold courtesy meetings with various stakeholder leaders in the country, hold a press briefing for the local press and also conduct a detailed meeting with the technical officials in Uganda.
