TRENTO On February 20th, Leonz Eder, FISU Vice President and Kolë Gjeloshaj, Director of Educational Services who is coordinator of FISU protocol and security matters, began their meetings with representatives of the Trentino Organizing Committee of the 26th Winter Universiade in 2013. The main reason for their visit to Trento is to assess the status of the preparation of protocol events that will take place during the Universiade.

The first part of the day was devoted to meetings with officials and the volunteers services towards the participants regarding aspects and needs related to ceremonies and cultural events.

Gian Franco Kasper with Leonz EderOne of the activities they took part in was the Opening Ceremony of the FIS World Championships in Nordic skiing held from February 20 to March 3 (Val di Fiemme) which will host some of the events of the 26th Universiade in December.

The Opening Ceremony was held in the same place where the Opening Ceremony of the Universiade will take place, allowing the FISU delegates to explore opportunities in the center of the city of Trento.

Leonz Eder had the opportunity to meet with several international sports personalities present at this event. In fact, besides the FIS President Gian Franco Kasper, he met two members of the International Olympic Committee, Ottavio Cinquanta, President of the International Skating Union and former cross-country skier Manuela di Centa, who won seven Olympic medals.
