LAUSANNE – Eurosport won the Sports Channel Award at the prestigious Eutelsat TV Awards in Venice on Friday 30 November. The Jury of international media experts cited Eurosport’s commitment to live sport, record audiences during the London 2012 Olympic Games and commitment to technical innovation in awarding the prize ahead of Sky Sport (Italy) and Sport Plus (Russia). The Eutelsat TV Awards is a unique international event recognising the quality of thematic satellite TV channels, with over 120 channels from 19 countries participating in this year’s competition.
Eurosport partners with FISU to bring 60 hours in HD for each Summer Universiade and 40 hours in HD for each Winter Universiade until 2017 and also produces a monthly TV show called CAMPUS dedicated to the World University Championship events and FISU’s global commitment to excellence in body and mind.
