Call of Candidature & New Attribution Procedure for 2016 World University Championships

LAUSANNEAlternating with the Universiades, every two years FISU organises World University Championships for the sports accepted by the General Assembly and the Executive Committee.

We are pleased to officially launch the candidatures for the World University Championships for 2016. The sports at the program of the FISU Championships are:

Badminton, Baseball, Basketball 3×3, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Bridge, Cross Country, Chess, Cycling, Equestrian, Canoe Sprint, Floorball, Futsal, Golf, Field Hockey, Karate, Long Track Speed Skating, Match Racing (Sailing), Handball , Netball ,Nordic Combined, Orienteering, Rowing, Rugby Seven, Savate, Ski Jumping, Sport Shooting, Softball, Squash, Triathlon, Waterski, Canoe Slalom, Weightlifting, Woodball and Wrestling.

The Executive Committee, at its meeting on September 20th, 2012, decided to change the attribution procedure as well as the organising right fees of the World University Championships.

Member Associations interested to organise a Championship in 2016 in one of the sports mentioned above, are invited to contact the FISU World University Championships department (championships@fisu.net) for the guidelines to be followed in order to submit your candidature.

According to the procedure laid down in the FISU regulations, we kindly remind you that only a Member-Association of FISU can submit a candidature dossier.

Any candidature submitted to FISU with all completed documents until August 31st, 2013 (at the latest) will be analysed by the Technical Delegate concerned and by the WUC Evaluation Committee. Accepted candidatures will be invited to present their bid to the mentioned committee during the month of October 2013 (bid presentations are mandatory and will be scheduled accordingly). This presentation, together with the previous evaluations, will define whether the bid will be submitted to the Executive Committee for decision at the following meeting in November 2013.
