Kazan 2013 themed Children’s Playground opens in Kazan

11 September 2012

KAZAN The children’s playground dedicated to the 27th Summer Universiade and sports was launched in the Moskovsky City District, Kazan. The play area is located in the square which was laid out under the 100 Squares of Kazan programme.

Upon the initiative of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky City Districts, the playground is decorated with the images of Uni the snow leopard kitten, the mascot of the 2013 Summer Universiade, which is due to inspire local children to start playing sports. All the more so the play area has facilities for taking part in any physical recreation: chess tables, various training and educational devices for kids of all ages. A stage is also installed to provide young gifted dancers, singers and artists with a venue where they can unleash their talents.

The playground became the first of its kind in the city. But with less than a year to go until the start of the Universiade, there is a strong confidence that more and more Kazan 2013 themed playgrounds will be set up in the yards of Kazan.
