Kazan 2013 Team gears up for 3 FISU WUCs

KAZAN – With less than a week left to go until the 5th World University Canoe Sprint Championship, training for employees of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate kicked off in the Rowing Centre to get all functional areas ready for the test event.

The Rowing Centre, the Kazan 2013 Rowing and Canoe Sprint venue, will also play host to the 12th World University Rowing Championship on September 7-9. Both championships are test events ahead of the Kazan 2013 Summer Universiade, which puts extra pressure on the organisers.

The staff and volunteers that will be involved in staging the test events in a whole array of functional areas got familiar with special features of the two sports, premises of the competition venue and went through a functional training.

Much attention was also given to security provision in the run-up to and during the FISU World University Championships. Representatives of various services and departments attended the training to show the staff and volunteers what to do and how to act in case of emergency.

From September 4^th to 9^th, Kazan will also host the 4^th WUC Shooting Sport, which will also be a test event for the 2013 Summer Universiade as the sport features on the optional sport programme.
