Volunteer Recruitment for 2012 WUC Badminton in Full Swing

GWANGJU – In the World University Badminton Championship which is going to be held for 6 days from this coming November 6th until 11th at Gwangju Yeomju gymnasium, around 240 athletes and officials from 23 different federations are expected to participate. Volunteers will be helping with delegation assistance, game management assistance, interpretation, translation, medical services assistance, etc., in 9 areas.

The Organizing Committee is planning to recruit 250 volunteers including those who can speak foreign languages such as English, French, Japanese and Chinese. Anyone over the age of 18 is qualified to apply, and you may submit an email registration after downloading the application form from the organizing committee webpage (www.2012badminton.com) from this coming until June 30th.

The Organizing Committee will start application and interview evaluation from this coming July until September, and by this coming October, it is planning to select the prospective volunteers. After a courtesy training, selected volunteers will go out in the volunteer site. Working period is total 9 days including pre-and post-game period, and official uniform, certificate of volunteer work and a small amount of reimbursement will be awarded.

Il-Sik Noh, the head of General Business Office of the Organizing Committee stated: “In order to make the 2012 World University Badminton Championship a successful event, we are spurring the preparation in each area” and continued “For successful hosting of the championship, we ask people to show their interest and support.”
