2012 WUC Floorball Update: CAUS is ready to host

PRAGUE CAUS, the Czech University Sports Association chaired by President Frantisek Dvorak and Secretary General Vaclav Samberger, is ready to welcome the participants to the 5th World University Floorball Championship 2012 in Prague from May 23rd to May 27th, 2012.

CAUS is indeed an active Member Association of FISU. It has organized 11 World University Championships so far. CAUS chose Prague since it is the ideal place to hold such a FISU sport event, in addition of being a favorite tourist destination.

After a successful 4th edition of the WUC Floorball which was staged in Umea, Sweden in 2010, CAUS has accepted the challenge to make of this 5th edition another success.

After a kind dinner invitation from the FISU Technical Chair for Sport Shooting, Mrs. Ivana Ertlova (CZE), the CISCA members gathered on Tuesday morning, May 22nd, for a CISCA meeting, followed by the first CTI Meeting.

Adam Roczek (POL), Executive Committee delegate and EUSA representative chaired the CISCA meeting, attended by Ari Vehniainen (FIN), FISU Technical Chair for Floorball, Zygmunt Przybylski (POL), CM delegate, Carlos Manuel Lopes (ANG), CIC delegate and Nicole Mangelschots, Executive Assistant to the Director of Development. Peter Kratz, represented the International Floorball Federation (IFF). The OC was represented by Vaclav Samberger, CAUS Secretary General and Daniel Zacek, OC President.

The 1st CTI Meeting, directed by Ari Vehniainen and Daniel Zacek took place in the Masarykova Dorm, with attendance of the different countries participating : Japan, Finland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and of course Czech Republic. General information as well as tournament information, doping control information and details for the opening ceremony were given to the Heads of Delegation. Transportation schedules, accommodation, food were topics discussed as well.
