KAZAN – While on an inspection trip to Kazan, John Warnock, FISU CTI Chair for the Summer Universiade, commented on the host city’s readiness to stage the World University Summer Games.
John Warnock is positive that huge preparations have been made in the city ofKazanwhich leaves no doubt that the 27th Summer Universiade will be a success. According to John Warnock’s overall impression, Kazan 2013 promises to be the most large-scale Universiade ever held in FISU history which also implies the challenges for the Games organisers. «We need to stage test events in 27 sports and provide the highest possible level of event management. It’s a serious and ambitious task. But the projects initiated by the Kazan 2013 Organising Committee are breath-taking and I’m confident that you will be able to pull them off!», John Warnock said. At the same time, he noted, Kazan will be the gainer whatever the outcome may be. «Just look around and you can see these beautiful facilities constructed for the Universiade and destined to become its legacy», he said.
During their 2nd Inspection Visit toKazan, the FISU delegates tested the readiness of all sports venues and personnel to host the 2013 Games. Special attention is given to the sports competition schedule for the 27th Summer Universiade. For nearly two weeks, the FISU representatives have been holding meetings with experts of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, as well as sports federation representatives who, under the cooperation agreement signed with Kazan 2013, help to devise the Games competition schedule with due consideration for requirements specific for each sport on the programme.
