2012 FISU Forum: Students Committee’s debut

 Students Committee’s debut meeting participants

 

Taipei – The first ever official meeting of the Students Committee (SC) took place in Taipei, on occasion of the 11th FISU Forum. The committee was formed after the decision of the FISU Executive Committee and will be coordinated of CESU member Renata Bojczuk (POL).

The Students Committee members are: Natasha Campos Mendez (CRC), Kasper Czarnota (POL), Rosa Delots (FRA), Justin Fauteux (CAN), Scott Krapf (USA), Diacunda Sene (SEN) and Choo Young (KOR). An additional three students will be selected from the sessions that take place during the forum work.

Mrs Bojczuk, the SC coordinator, mentioned her enthusiasm about this decision of the FISU EC. “It is quite symbolic that that the first meeting take place during the FISU Forum as it really initiated from the discussions and ideas shared by participants of the previous Forum”. She mentioned that this was why the first immediate role of the members of this committee was to support the preparation of the forum activities.

“Our aim is to bring FISU and NUSF’s even closer to students that it is now so that they can fully benefit from their experience and fresh approach to the issues important for university sport and its future”, Mrs Bojczuk mentioned, adding that “these are tomorrow’s leaders – their input can make a change and ensure sustainability of FISU activities”.

The Students Committee, both current and the new members will meet again still during the Forum and set out their roles for the term underway.
