2012 FISU Forum Update: Inspection Visit

TAIPEI CITY – On December 10th and 11th, the Chinese Taipei University Sports Federation (CTUSF) welcomed Kolë Gjeloshaj, FISU Director for Educational Services in the context of the preparation of the 11th FISU Forum that will take place in Taipei City from March 26th to 31st. The Secretary General of CTUSF, Mr. Ching-Yu Tseng and Ms. Fran Lee the head of the International Department and her assistant Ms. An Sue met with K. Gjeloshaj and visited the venues that will be used for the Forum. 

The main purpose of the meeting was to finalize the program and to select the venues that will welcome those events that are not going to take place in the Howard Civil Service International House. The Taipei Physical Education College will welcome the sport activities and the Forum Fair while the Chinese Cultural University will welcome the Closing Ceremony and the Farewell banquet.

The themes of the 11Th Forum are:         

General Theme

“University sport a Platform for Sustainable Development”

Sub-topics/themes:

“University sport as fertile ground for leadership development”

“Sportsmanship as a platform for lifelong development”

“University Sport – A platform for change and for women’s engagement”

“Strategic planning for “eco-friendly” university sport”

The FISU Forum is the educational FISU event, where all components of FISU are meeting and discussing University Sports during six days. Moreover this event is the ideal place for the young sports managers and leaders to better understand the university sport environment at all levels, to compare and share practices with other member federations and to network.

The FISU Forum combines high-profile academic speakers presenting the main subthemes, group discussions for participants and sport and cultural activities.
