TRENTOTrentino is ready with all sports infrastructures and facilities to host the Winter Universiade in 2017. All structures are there and some of them just need to be renewed with the highest attention to environmental sustainability, from pollution reduction to the use of renewable energies. The aim is to be, as indicated in the Trentino 2017 bidding dossier, an environment friendly Winter Universiade.

Stadio del Fondo Lago di TeseroIn Val di Fiemme much has already been established, thanks to the big events which the valley is going to host in the next future. The renewed XC Skiing Stadium in Lago di Tesero and the Ski Jumping arena in Predazzo, which will be completed by the end of 2011, will have the opportunity to be tested on the occasion of the next important events: a month-long Pre World Championships event, with kick-off on 7-8 January 2012 with the Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski final leg, followed by the FIS Women’s and Men’s Ski Jumping World Cup and Nordic Combined World Cup, and the 2013 Ski World Championships.

These two venues have been largely revamped with eco-friendly construction methods and materials, following the UNI EN ISO 14001 certification received in 2003. All future sport events will have low carbon emission and will be environment friendly.
