2017 SU Bidding Update: Brazilian Representatives seeking Support in Costa Rica for Brasilia Bid

COSTA RICANovember 10th, representatives of the Brazilian Embassy in Costa Rica visited the Executive Committee of the Costarican University Sports Federation FECUNDE in order to present Brazil’s bidding candidature to host the 2017 Summer Universiade in Brasilia.

During this meeting, Mr Celso Costa Bello talked about the conditions of Brasilia to receive the World University Games. “Brazil will host the Soccer World Cup in 2014 and lateron will host the Olympic Games in 2016, which is why we are confident that the experience will be strong enough to make the Universiade a great event”, emphasized Mr Costa Bello.

The members of FECUNDE ratified the need to carry out events of this great magnitude in the Americas, as the last Universiade hosted on the American continent dates back to 1993 (SU in Buffalo,USA).
