2012 WUC Update: Yilan County to host the 11th Edition for Triathlon

BRUSSELS – From June 29^th to 30^th, Yilan County (TPE) will host the 11^th World University Triathlon Championship.

It will be the second edition held out of Europe, and the second edition in Asia, after Nanao (JPN) in 2002.

Triathlon is a very popular sport within the World University Championship program, attracting more than a 120 participants and 25 countries during the last editions.

The county of Yilan, mainly known for its folklore festival and its “Yilan Green International Film Festival” will have an opportunity to host the best student triathletes in the world and is planning to organize a wonderful championship for the athlete to remember it.

The University Sport Federation of Chinese Taipei is one of the very active members of FISU having organized until now 10 World University Championship and will organize in addition of Triathlon, also Baseball in 2012 in Tao Yuan.
