2013 SU Update: Shenzhen Universiade Debriefing ends

KAZAN From October 21st to 22nd, Kazan staged the first FISU Debriefing in the Universiade history ‘Universiade: from Shenzhen to Kazan’. Within a framework of the debriefing, the Organizing Committee for the 26th Summer Universiade in China shared their experience with representatives of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate.

The Shenzhen 2011 organizers hope that the 2013 SU will be held on a higher level, than the one in Shenzhen. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee and Director General of the Executive Office of the Shenzhen Universiade OC Liang Daoxing in an interview in the capital of Tatarstan. “We can see, thatKazanhas done a lot preparing for the Universiade”, pointed out Liang Daoxing. “We hope that the Games in Kazan will be held on a higher level, than those in Shenzhen.”

As was mentioned by the Chinese part, the most important thing now for the organizers of the 2013 SU is to finish the construction of all Universiade projects. “Construction plans are of the highest importance now. Because the presence of these venues is fundamental for carrying out the Games,” said Mr. Daoxing.

Liang Daoxing told about the legacy that was left after the Universiade. “There are a lot of sports venues, which will be used for the promotion of large-scale health and fitness events, as well as for the upbringing of a new generation of athletes and holding larger sports competitions. Apart from that, we have gained a unique experience of running competitions. Video materials are especially important and can be used in preparations for future events”.
