Brasilia hosts National Phase of Brazilian League 2011

BRASILIA From September 19th to 24th, Brasília (DF) receives the national phase of Brazilian University Sports League 2011. The competition brings together the top teams of the university scene for tournaments of handball, basketball, futsal and volleyball (male and female).

More than 900 athletes representing teams from thirteen states – the champions of the regional phases of the Brazilian League 2011 and the medallists of the League 2010 – will shake the federal capital.

“Those are record numbers in terms of participating and show that the Brazilian League is consolidated and growing”, says Luciano Cabral, President of Brazilian University Sports Confederation (CBDU).

Five gyms in Brasilia will be used during the games and the admission is free. From Tuesday to Thursday (September 20th to 22nd) the qualifying rounds will be played. On Friday, (September 23rd) the semifinals occur and the finals are scheduled for Saturday (September 24th).

 

 

In addition to the games, the Brazilian University League will have a series of extra activities such as sports clinics, city tour in the national capital, Living Center with games and music and CBDU’s Workshop Application.

The regionals of the Brazilian University League 2011 involved about 1,600 athletes from twenty states, representing more than forty education institutions.

The Brazilian University Sports League 2011 is realized by the Brazilian University Sports Confederation (CBDU) with the support from the Ministry of Sports and sponsored by Itaú, Volkswagen, Koch Tavares, Wilson, ABC Bank, Redecard, Nokia, Contax and Bauducco.
