2014 WUC Update: Golf in Crans-Montana, Switzerland

CRANS-MONTANA – At the occasion of the 1st competition day at the Omega European Masters 2011 in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, the Organizing Committee of the 2014 World University Golf Championship met for a constitutional meeting. Under the leadership of OC President Pierre Bruchez and Secretary General Guy Praplan, the following members were present:
– Mr Charly Bagnoud, Vice-President
– Mrs Michèle Lehmann-Kim, Marketing/Communication
– Mr Christophe Cottini, Sport and Logistics
– Mr Yves Rey, delegate from the Institute of Higher Education SO
– Mr Angel Gallardo, delegate of the European Tour
– Mr Gaston Barras, Chairman Omega European Masters
– Mr Andreas Csonka, President of the Swiss University Sports Federation
– Mr Leonz Eder, Managing director of SUSF and liaison to FISU and SUSF

The OC discussed the budget of the 2014 WUC Golf, questions of marketing and communication, theFISU guidelines of protocol, the system of accreditation  as well as the recruiting of volunteers. It was also decided to send a delegation to the 2012 WUC Golf inLiberec,Czech Republic, and to invite both theFISU Secretary General/CEO Eric Saintrond and WUC Director Laurent Briel to the next Omega European Masters 2012.

On behalf of the Swiss University Sport Federation, President Andreas Csonka thanked the OC of Crans-Montana to host the 2014 WUC Golf. Csonka and Leonz Eder were very much impressed by the outstanding golf course and the newly built Performance Center. They had a chance to follow some competitions of the Omega European Masters.
