2011 SU Update: Participation Record Broken!

Shenzhen – Day 2 at this 26th Universiade, the University Games in Shenzhen, China, so it’s only the beginning. So far, the record of participants at a FISU Universiade has been already largely broken. As of today, 9208 participants have been registered in the Athletes’ Village, while the previous record stood at 9006 participants at the 24th Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand.

The number of participating countries so far is 150. This is still not a record as we had 171 countries in Daegu 2003 (KOR). But more and more countries are coming in Shenzhen.
