1st Speech of Mr. Gallien as the New FISU President
‘Dear Friends,
Let me first thank you – all of you – for attendance and participation in this election. You have conferred me through this election both a great honor and great responsibilities.
Election is a competition and in university sport you never compete against – you compete first with yourself and also together with others for a common goal, which is excellence.
We are university sport and we are excellent in mind and body. In University Sport you compete with total respect for the others. I have been working for years with President Killian and I want to express publicly my great consideration and respect and I believe I can do also on behalf of the all the Assembly.
Now it’s time to go on with the election of our new Executive Committee members. I am confident that this Committee, this team will be the expression of both our rich diversity and strong unity. Change is not rupture.’
Chers amis,
