KAZAN On June 1st, Kazan 2013 volunteers organized and delivered celebrations dedicated to the International Children’s Day. The festivities initiated by the Children and Youth Committee of Kazan took place in theKyrlayEntertainmentPark.

Kazan 2013 volunteers created a unique fairy tale like atmosphere in the park. Volunteer entertainers dressed like Uni the snow leopard kitten were in the centre of attention. Heroes of the day were indefatigably taking pictures, playing, dancing and having fun with the Universiade mascots. Being kids, they kept asking questions about Uni. Later on, children were offered to draw the Universiade mascot and depict their own vision of the 2013 Summer Universiade using chalk as the medium and asphalt as the canvas. The children unleashed their imagination.

It stands to note that social projects are a significant part of Kazan 2013 volunteer training. Volunteers of the 2013 Sumer Universiade are actively involved in large-scale social and charity projects and building favorable attitude towards volunteering.
