2013 SU Update: Boris Gryzlov: Kazan is able to host the Universiade this Summer

KAZAN As part of his working visit to Kazan, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov took an inspection tour of the Universiade Village.

The State Duma Speaker got acquainted with the Village’s facilities. He inspected the rooms and noted high standards of the campus’ amenities and stressed how significant it was that the move-in procedure was already underway. Universiade Village Mayor Farid Abdulganiev provided a detailed report on the venue and showcased the miniature model of the Village, including the International Media Centre.

As a memento of his visit to theUniversiadeVillage, Boris Gryzlov left a note in the Guest Book. «The facilities created for large-scale competitions are excellent. It’s really important that all the venues erected for the Universiade will be used after the Games as well. I wish all of us good luck and victory», the State Duma Speaker’s note said.

The agenda of the Speaker’s visit toKazanalso included a tour of the Saint Petersburg Volleyball Centre, Burevestnik Swimming Pool andTennisAcademy.

Boris Gryzlov noted that all the sports venues constructed for the Universiade, were put into active use and were in demand byKazancitizens and students.
