27th SELL Games in Kaunus

KAUNUS – On May 13th, took place the Opening Ceremony of the 27th edition of the SELL Games. The SELL Games were organised in Kaunus by the Lithuanian Students Sports Association (LSSA) who’s President, Ceslovas Garbaliauskas is a FISU committee member. 1,800 student’s athletes coming from twelve countries competed in 10 sports from May 13th to 15th.

The SELL Games created for the Baltic countries are welcoming each year a higher number of teams coming from all Europe.

It is in attendance of many officials and a large number of FISU and EUSA officials that Mr. George E. Killian opened officially this edition of the SELL Games. We have to notice the attendance of the Presidents of three Continental University Sports Federations, Mr. A. Gualtieri (EUSA-Europe), Mr.M. Ralethe (FASU – Africa) and Mr. J. Jakob (ODUPA – America).

The program of the competitions included the following sports: Athletics, Basketball, Orienteering, Table Tennis, Swimming, Judo, Volleyball, Futsal, Powerlifting and Wrestling (Greco-roman style).
