SHENZHEN – The Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate delegation started a four-day visit to the host city of the 2011 Summer Universiade on Tuesday on March 1st.
The Tatarstan delegation includes Director General Vladimir Leonov, Deputy Director General Igor Sivov, Head of the Volunteers Department Liliya Barieva, Head of the Department of Cultural and Social Programs Arkady Karbaev and head of the Protocol Department Evgenia Yakina. The purpose of the visit is to sign the agreement on Kazan 2013 volunteers’ internship at the 2011 Summer Universiade.
The delegates met with the Shenzhen 2011 Organizing Committee and negotiated Kazan 2013 representatives’ participation in the 26th World University Summer Games. The setting up of the Russky Dom (Russian House) was discussed as well.
The delegates will also have a meeting with representatives of the Shenzhen Mayor’s Office and examine the possibility of holding events of the 2011 Cultural Universiade in China. The Kazan 2013 delegation is expected to have one more working meeting with the 2011 Summer Universiade Organizing Committee that will feature the discussion of the FISU flag handover event during the Closing Ceremony of the University Games.
