2013 SU Update: Universiade Village chooses ‘Best Village Men’

KAZAN The ‘Best Village Men’ Contest scheduled to coincide with Defender of the Fatherland Day was held at the Universiade Village on Thursday, February 24th.

The event gathered 8 teams made up of male representatives of the Universiade Village. The first challenge was to introduce the team in an original way. It stands to note that the hall where the contest took place was crowded with students that came to supports their friends and roommates.

The participating teams were to complete challenges and the panel of judges was to choose the Best Village Men of the student campus. The challenges made contestants not only demonstrate their strength and stunt but also to unlock their creativity.

By the end of the contest the panel announced 7 nominees and the winning team the members of which were named the Best Village Men. The titles went to the residents of Building 15 of the Universiade Village – Artur Nizamov, Timur Zaripov and Pavel Gorshkov.

Artur Nizamov, student of the Law Department of Kazan Federal University, expressed his joy about their victory: “I want to say thank you to the organizers for giving us a chance to fulfill the potential and for making our life here full of fun and adventure.”

His teammate and fellow student Timur Zaripov added that such events united residents of the Universiade Village. “When we were preparing for the contest we started to communicate with each other, to share ideas and emotions,” he said.
