International Education Center FISU in Kazan

KAZAN – Rustam Minnikhanov and Claude-Louis Gallien, the first Vice President of FISU, discussed the concept of creation the International Education Center FISU in Kazan.

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Claude-Louis Gallien, the first Vice President of FISU (FISU), in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Claude-Louis Gallien arrived in the capital of Tatarstan for a three-day working visit (16-18 February 2011) on behalf of George Killian, FISU President.

During the meeting with Rustam Minnikhanov, there were conducted talks on preparation for the Summer Universiade – 2013 and the construction of sports infrastructure in Kazan. In addition, the participants of the meeting discussed the concept of creation the International Education Center FISU in Kazan on the basis of Volga Region Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism.

During the current visit to Kazan, Mr. Claude-Louis Gallien visited sports facilities (the Single Combat Palace, the Burevestnik Swimming Pool, the Tennis Academy), the Universiade Village, got acquainted with the project of academic and laboratory building of the Volga Region Academy and the International Education Center of FISU.

The meeting was attended by the FISU representative Kole Gjeloshaj, Director of Educational and Development Services, Oleg Matytsin, President of the Russian Student Sports Union, member of the Executive Committee of FISU, Sergei Evseev, Director of scientific and innovation policy and education department of the Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation, Rafis Burganov, Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, Iskander Muflikhanov, Aide to the President of RT, and Vladimir Leonov, Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate.
