2011 WU Update -Day 7 – Figure Skating: Free Skating

ERZURUM Two major competitions in figure skating today, February 2nd: the men’s individual free program and the ice dance free program in front of another full house at the ice arena.

Silver medallist Sergey Voronov In the men’s individual, the three Turkish skaters were well cheered by the public, but were chanceless regarding the medal hunt. The gold went to Japanese skater Nobunari Oda who amassed a score of 223.15. The silver went to Russian Sergey Voronov (204.54) while the bronze went to another Japanese skater, Daisuke Murakami (202.83). The best Turkish skater, Kutay Eryoldas ended 18th out of 32 skaters.

In the ice dance competition, the gold went to the Russian couple Nori Maisuradze/Liubov Ilyushchkina, while the silver and bronze went to the Chinese couples Huibo Dong/Yiming Wu and Yue Zhang/Lei Wang.
