2011 WU Update – Day3 – Cross Country – Sprint

29 January 2011

ERZURUM – January 29th- In Kandili, the Cross Country competition continued today with the very demanding sprint event for both men and women. The weather and snow conditions on the venue were excellent. It seems that the Russian Team is once again very strong this year and it will become a tradition in our Cross Country events. Radik Gaziev from Russia won the Gold Medal in the men’s category. French skier Baptiste Gros ranked second which is an excellent result for him. Denis Volotka from Kazakhstan took the bronze medal.

In the women’s event, Slovakian skier Alena Prochazkova managed to get the Gold Medal but had to fight against Eva Nyvltova (CZE) and Alina Kashina (RUS).
