2011 WU Update: Last Stretch of Preparations

The Master Control Room at the IBC is ready for the Universiade

 

ERZURUM The fever is rising in Erzurum, host city of the 25th Winter Universiade. With five days left to countdown before the Games kick-off with the Opening Ceremony, the city is buzzing with activity. Rehearsals are everywhere, as the Organizing Committee wants these Games to be picture perfect. It’s the first time in Turkey’s history that a major multi-winter sports event is staged in the country, so the stakes are high and the world will be watching thanks to the 63 hours of live international broadcasting (Eurosport, RTR Russian TV among them) confirmed so far.

The MPC and IBC are ready to open and the venue press centers await the 700 media professionals accredited for the 25th Winter Universiade.

In the meanwhile the rehearsals for the Opening Ceremony are in full swing and with the Opening Ceremony of the 2005 Summer Universiade in Izmir in mind, it will without doubt be very spectacular. To be continued …
