2011 WU Update: First Group of FISU Staff Travels to Erzurum

BRUSSELS Today, January 14th, the first group of FISU Staff members travelled to Erzurum, Turkey, host city of the 25th Winter Universiade. They will join Sport Assistant Jiho Kim who is in Erzurum since December as a liaison between FISU and the OC.

Two more groups of FISU Staff will travel to Erzurum, on January 17th and 19th respectively. They will set up a temporary FISU Secretariat at the Palan Hotel, the hotel accommodation for the FISU Family.

Busy times arise as prior to the Winter Universiade – January 27th to February 6th – the CDSU and CESU meet on January 23rd, the FISU Executive Committee meets on January 24th and 25th and the Sport Scientific Conference opens on January 24th. The first Heads of Delegation meeting will also take place on Monday 24th. On January 26th, FISU President Killian will speak at the traditional FISU press conference one day prior to the Opening Ceremony of the Universiade.
