2011 WU Update: Protocol Ceremonies

ERZURUM – On October 22nd, in Erzurum FISU representatives for protocol Fernand Bottelberghs, Kolë Gjeloshaj together with Milan Augustin and Jiho Kim of the sport department met with the Kenan Sebin, Director of the department for the Opening and Closing Ceremony of OC and Yesim Muderrisoglu, Executive Secretary General to overview the programs and operation plans of the ceremonies of the Games.

The working session started by the presentation of the cultural program by Mustafa Erdogan representing the company “Fir of Anatolia” with Davut Gunayidin of TIGRIS. Mr. Gunayidin was in charge of the Opening Ceremony of the 2005 Universiade in Izmir.

 

 

The venue for the Opening & Closing CeremoniesAfter reviewing the FISU protocol part of the Opening Ceremony and the specificities of the Closing Ceremony, including the organizers of the 2013 Winter Universiade in Maribor, the delegation visited the stadium of the City in which the ceremonies are going to take place. 53 countries and 3,000 participants are expected to take part in this edition of the Winter Universiade.

The day ended with a visit of the medal plaza in the center of the city where medal awarding ceremonies will be organized each evening. The visit was followed by a working session of the medal awarding ceremonies.
